Apples new USB-C peripheral device used for MAC cannot be used with Macos Sequoia 15.1 or the current 15.2 test version.Although Apple said that its new USB-C Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse can be used in conjunction with devices many years ago, they will not be able to use it if there is no specific update.
Apple lists the earliest compatible Mac launched in 2018, but it does not indicate that users must update to Macos Sequoia 15.1.
In Macos Sequoia 15 or earlier, the Touch ID and function keys cannot be used on the new Magic Keyboard.Although there is no report that Magic Trackpad fails, Magic Mouse cannot achieve scroll operations.
All the compatible Macs listed are also compatible with Macos Sequoia. However, including Mac mini in 2018 and IMAC in 2019, they are based on the Intel architecture, so they are not completely supported by Macos Sequoia. It is also reported that these peripherals fail in Macos Sequoia 15.2.At present, this version is still in the development stage of the developer, so will definitely solve this problem before publishing Macos Sequoia 15.2 to the public.
The only obvious difference between the new version of the peripheral peripherals is from Lightning to USB-C.It is unclear why their wireless connections have problems, but the reports seem to only involve this.
Apples peripheral compatibility equipment list also lists many iPad devices, including iPad Air 2.So far, there seems to be no reports on the use of peripherals on iPad.
