My own belief is that neithergenreof tv programs nor viewing time carries more significance inbreedingmore ill-behaved or good-behaved kids; rather, it is the variables in age and cognitive abilities thathold sway. Repetitive numerical studies have found that 3-hour daily educational television viewing—which is recommended to be prohibited for 2-year-olds—may not alwaysbodeill for 7-year-olds. Appropriate parental supervision is another important butunderratedelement that has the potential to significantlybreak the spellof television shows. If this were not the case, tv programs ought to have long been blamed as ataboofor the minors worldwide, for its so-called negative psychological and socialrepercussions.
